Check the USB Root Hub status in Device Manager. Advanced tab. Does it say
it is operating at Full Speed or High Speed. If Full Speed, then it's just
slightl better than the old USB 1.x Article:
http://www.photoxels.com/article-usb-2.0-high-speed-vs-full-speed.html.
High Speed is the one with 480Mb max.

I haven't seen any responses on the list, have you had any luck resolving
this?

Nope. It's been an ongoing problem for a long time.

Are you using a Windoze O/S on the laptop?

I've experienced the problem in Windows XP and Windows 7.

Is it possible for a Windoze Update to affect the driver?

You may need to do a reinstall of the driver for the card.

Doubtful ... as I experienced the problem on two OS's.

I need to see how Linux behaves with the CF card reader.
