Re: POE Switch?

I went the opposite route and did Ethernet over Power a.k.a. Powerline
Ethernet. Plug 'n' go. No cables to run. Drop a switch anywhere if
needed. 200Mb aggregate speed for the home; 100Mb from each access point.
One-touch setup for encryption.

I used these (

to route Ethernet from my basement to our master bedroom. In the
master
bedroom I dropped a 5 port switch that's supporting a PC, DVR, Bluray
player, and Slingbox. That's a lot of LEDs at night so a little electrical
tape was used to black out some of them. :)

The Slingbox was free from Dishnetwork as I'm in their trial program to see
how well it works with their DVRs and such. The installation tech even
brought Sling's Powerline equipment ( http://www.slingbox.com/go/slt ) to
make sure Ethernet was available, although we wound up using my existing
gear.
