I hope you've been happily playing with your Powershot. Sorry to post
late, but hope it's helpful to someone. I've had two Canon Powershots
(broke the door that holds the batteries in on the first one with a
badly timed drop), as well as a Kodak point-and-shoot model. I found
the Kodak's operation more intuitive, but now that I've gotten the hang
of the Canon UI I vastly prefer it.

I can't comment on Canon's software, as I use now use Digicam on Linux,
but Kodak's photo management software is terrible IMO.

I did buy a Powershot A1000 but I've been off at cub scout camp with one
of my kids and haven't done much with it yet. Since I was going to be out
in the elements I took my old flaky Kodak along for this trip. Next week
I will have lots of photo-opportunities for the new Powershot.

I also haven't checked out the Cannon software yet. The Kodak software
did the job but it seemed to be "dumbed-down" to make it overly easy for
the below-average consumer to upload their pictures. I've got some other
options for viewing and manipulating them once they are on the PC.

Thanks to everybody for their suggestions!
