There was only one attack. Fortunately, this was one of my "throw-away"
accounts, so most of the email addresses were either no longer any good (got
a *ton* of "undeliverable" responses) or were addresses that I don't really
care about.

I got one threat from someone who belonged to an OpenOffice forum group
whom I may have emailed four years ago when I was trying to figure out
something in Open Office.

My resolution consisted of changing the account's password and secret
question, per Google's suggestions.
All of contacts were deleted, and this is consistent with other
online accounts regarding this same email. Again, not a problem, since I
never used my contacts in this account.

Definitely a wake-up call to change many passwords, though.
