I recently purchased a new Thinkpad T500 (standard OS offered was vista
business) and customized it to request the XP downgrade option. No problem
there and when I booted, XP pro came up and life is good.

My question is whether I'm entitled to the Vista Business edition? To my
understanding MS counts this product as a Vista sale (even though it is in
reality XP).

Do I need to pay to move up to Vista should I ever decide to do so?
According to the configuration doc shipped with the product it states
Vista with xp downgrade option.

Or is there a chance that the recovery option/partition offers an option
to load Vista?

I haven't contacted Lenovo yet to ask this question, and my thought that
is when I do, I'm not certain I'll get a straight answer - hence my
question here first.

Comments anyone?

Thanks!

Regards, Jerry
