Bill

Finally go vb reinstalled after my disk crash.

When I put in the below code, I get an error on the set varDocType as a
compile error, object required. This probably means I need to assign a
definition to varDocType. I tried several definition, but I haven't
figured out what type. I'm a Novice vb programmer. Duh

Appreciate your help.

<Here's what I'd do in an attempt to debug:
<
<set varDocType = MailMergeDocument.MailMerge.State
<If Not varDocType = wdMainAndHeader Then
< SkipDocumentPrint = True
< ShowMessage FileName, ".doc is not a mailmerge document", "**"
< Documents.Close (wdDoNotSaveChanges)
< Exit Sub
<End If>
