I'd start w/a book from your favorite bookstore on Active Directory. You
won't implement it all, but at least you'll have an overview. There are
a number of good ones out there, grab a cup of coffee and browse the
shelf. As for a proxy server, no, one is not included in W2K3, proxy is
handled by MS's ISA (Internet Security and Acceleration) server. You can
start at
http://www.microsoft.com/isaserver/default.mspx and go from
there. Again, I'm sure your local bookstore has something on ISA.
Also, since this is for a school, make sure you're buying through the
educational side of the world, much better discounts.
