I set Thunderbird up two nights ago and was really impressed with the ease of
setup. Adding two gmail accounts was a breeze and they each have their own
inbox as I wanted.

Scott, you have intrigued me, how does one set different 'Get Mail' times for
each account? I presume it is in the account setup somewhere?

While I'm asking questions, is there a good web site for Thunderbird
support/information? I haven't gotten to spend much time with it yet but will
probably really dig in this weekend.

TIA,

Rick

As David has already said, you can do it both ways. Thunderbird is very
configurable. I do believe you can have any combination of which inbox emails
are put when they first come in without setting up a single rule.
Right now I have it set-up with 8 separate email accounts. Each one has its own
inbox. They can even have different 'Get Mail' times.

I thinking about installing Thunderbird on my PC and am trying to workout in
my mind how I want it set up before attempting the install. There will be at
least two e-mail accounts (gmail) and I want each one to download into a
separate 'inbox' to keep them separated. The interface and usability should
be as intuitive as possible.

My main question is if there will be a default inbox and I need to set up
rules to move messages into separate folders as I would in Outlook.

In addition, how is the sending account determined? I presume that it will
use the receiving account when replying, but what about new messages?
