Tommy,

I've heard that Vista is at least decent and even perhaps good. HOWEVER, it
does take more memory. The minimum is 512meg. To have a workable system
you'll need a 1 gig and 2 gig is recommended.

Graphics are much more important, even if you aren't a gamer.

Vista is still fairly new. Some stuff still doesn't run under vista.
Especially device drivers or anything that is "close to the OS". Make sure
everything you want to use is compatible.

If I was buying a new PC, I'd want Vista on it but I'd also get 2gig of
memory and a good graphics card (I do play games at home). Also a large
hard disk. 250gig at least.

Vista is a fact of life. Might as well learn and get used to it. Cause if
we don't, somebody else will.

With the large disk drive, I'd also leave some of it unallocated. Say 50
gig. That way, if you get brave or bored in the future, you might load
Linux or something else into that partition.

That all said, I'm still on XP both at home and at work.

JMHO,
Bob

No I'm looking for honest opinions..my mind isn't made up yet...i'm just
trying to get some feedback before I jump into a new OS...

Thanks,

A question like that tells me that no matter what, you aren't going to
like
it. So why don't you tell Mr Gates your opinion with your dollars...use
Linux or get a Mac?

Of course, I also don't understand those who hate Wal-Mart and are
always
telling you that...as they walk into a Wal-Mart store.

JMHO,
Bob
