Booth,

I use Ad Aware and Spy Sweeper at home. The feature of Spy Sweeper I like best
is that it notifies me when something tries to load itself at startup. I like
to keep the background services and processes to a minimum. The cost was
around $25 IIRC for a yearly subscription.

Subject: [PCTECH] Windows tools for regedit and ad ware

Windows tools for regedit and ad ware?

What are good tools to use now? Preferably free or nearly so.

What I am finding is that the vendors of the programs are misleading in their
ads. They talk about free, but when it comes time to do the work, they say no,
not until you pay.

So, if I need to pay, then I want to know what are the good ones.

Any suggestions?
