DNS for LAN and dial-up, Windows XP

For the longest time I was happily using dial-up alongside my broadband on my PC. I could use the Internet for e-mail and even Client Access on a System i my PC, and at the same time be dialed into another System i on my modem. It worked smoothly and seamlessly with no attention from me.

Then one day something changed. No idea what, but something. Since then as soon as I connect to the same System i with dial-up it disconnects my Internet connection.

Yesterday something occurred (again, I have no idea what) and it started a repair process and then said I do not have a DNS established. I still can use either LAN or dial-up, but not both.

Does any of this make sense? Has any one have any ideas as to how I can get both connections working again?
