Re: ABC vs. QWERTY

I still "chuckle" over my son (now 16) when he was about 3 1/2 or so.  I
consulted and traveled so I had my laptop require a boot password.  I came
back from taking a shower to find my son playing a computer game of his on
my laptop that I had installed for him.  I asked him how he got in and he
said when that blue box came up he typed in his first and middle name like I
did and pressed enter then clicked on his icon like I did.  First time he
had "tried" it by imself......

I think using QWERTY keyboard could be a way to help learn the ABC's.
Couple that with ABC learning software and the kid has to search on the
keyboard to find the correct letters.  It's not right there in a row where
they just mindlessly click one key after the next.  It seems to me they
could learn to type and practice their ABC's at the same time.
