Good point. And it might not be just that your servers are running R6.

Rob, Peter,

Thanks for the replies.

This is really strange. Right after I got your first response, the folders
started getting highlighted with the number of new messages! Just about
freaked me right out!

But it seems to be an on-again, off-again feature. I haven't figured out a
pattern. It's very frustrating, because I filter a lot of email to
different folders, and it's a real PITA to have to open each folder to see
if there's anything new.

Frankly, I've been really disappointed/frustrated using Notes. So far as I
can tell, we use Notes *only* as an email client. It's possible different
parts of the company use more of its capabilities. Using Notes for email
seems extremely counter-intuitive, especially since (or is it because) I've
used Outlook and Thunderbird, and I am very comfortable with the UI. I've
had a real laugh looking at http://lotusnotessucks.4t.com; I don't know how
"fair" all of the complaints are, but I have personally witnessed a few
error messages that are totally meaningless to me.

Is it possible to install Mozilla Thunderbird and port the configuration
from Lotun Notes? Or does the Domino server only play nice with Notes?
