Subject: dns same name

I am working with a windows 2003 server for small business. The machine was
set up with the same name as the Domain for the outside hosting server. I
have created a host record for www so when people type www.domainname.com
they are forwarded. I am having trouble though when people type in
domainname.com it defaults to http://domainname.com. Is there any way to
also forward http:// to a specific IP address as well? All help is
appreciated - I am sure the reasoning was they believed they would host
their own site eventually and wanted to make the transfer seamless - in the
mean time it is an issue.

Thanks,
