Weeeellllllll......sometimes you have to have tech support bounce up a few levels...just did a run around with HP on my 8250 scanjet...the thing does a total crapout on a few USB 2 chipsets when scanning in duplex mode...and ASUS happens to be one of the sets...the damn error looks like a windows error until you look at it really closely then it's a comm issue...had to be a real bastard about it, but finally I got up a couple levels to a guy that "really wants to talk to you"... :) Come to find out I'm only one of about 5 or so that have had this reported error...

Their solution(and ONLY solution) was to put a USB 1.1 hub between my 2.0 hub and the damn scanner...problem solved...slower but it works fine...but my new dual xeon 3.2gig'ers pick up the slack.... Can't wait to run those babies on some neural net sims... :)

Nope, both devices used USB 2.

Why? They would just tell me it's working exactly as designed.

Anyways, when was the last time someone in tech support knew anything
about why something was designed the way it was.
