Related to the previous thread, but new subject.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to work with my Yahoo email in a local client,
which I've heard can be done.  The web-based client is too slow & awkward
for my tastes.

I'm not stuck to Yahoo webmail, so I'd be willing to consider other services
as long as they're free and aren't extremely restrictive on volume.

Can anyone recommend / advise?
