Another thought: You can buy a brand new machine from Dell for only about
$400 these days (less monitor).  Why screw with an ancient machine and a
very bad OS (win98).  At best if you get it up and running you've still got
a barely runnable system.  Spend the money and end up with something decent
for your troubles.
