I called Verizon and they said they have nothing to do with it, I have to

You probably need to escalate the call to a higher tech support level.

The people you are talking to don't seem to know the difference between a forward dns entry (points lists.midrange.com to 69.3.23.26) and a reverse dns entry (points 69.3.23.26 to ip26.midrange.com).

The organization that owns the IP address space you are using (Verizon, most likely) is responsible for maintaining the reverse dns.

FWIW: Most DSL and cable ISP's actually do maintain reverse dns entries for their IP space. It will be something odd looking, like "adsl-99-99-99-99.dsl.chcgil.ameritech.net" (where the 99's actually are the IP address).
