There is a CD that came with the motherboard that I presume contains drivers.  
I've never tried to repair an installation, how would that be done?  Do I just 
load the original CD and try to boot from it or do I boot to safe mode and work 
from there?

I don't know the answer to this one.  I followed the installation instructions 
and set the BIOS accordingly, optimized settings option I think.  

I should remember but I can't at the moment, what is LBA?
