RE: Windows XP Professional and Service Packs Required

"There is only 1 service pack for XP, so your choices are limited.
I highly recommend you apply that SP, as it fixes some major security holes."

"Since XP SP2 is only in it's earliest Beta form, I would avoid it and go
with SP1.  Just be sure to hit Windows Update afterwards and get all of
the Critical Updates.  And browse the Recommended Updates for anything
else you might want."
