Not that they'll care much. 38 of their 40 hours per week are spent
reviewing and maximizing the value of a share of stock. Hence, the focus on
the services market.

I personally believe that over the last 30 years that the IBM midrange
systems
(particularly the System/38, AS/400, iSeries, and System i) represent

computing platform that has ever existed, bar none, but those in power
at IBM headquarters
still treats it like a step-child.

IMO, IBM should spin off the midrange division as a separate company,
and let it realize
its full potential. It has been held back by those in power at IBM
corporate.
