I live in Idaho and my parents in California. They show up as 'Out of Area'
or 'Unknown'. We go the answering machine route. And we have also signed up
with our State No Call list ! My husband also found out the statement you
need on your answering machine telling them to remove your number; these two
together have cut the calls down to nothing. My patience wore out when the
phone company telemarketers started calling my 18 yr old son asking if he
needed a phone. I asked what did they think we were currently talking on,
two cans and a string ? They had no answer.
