RE: Why vote if you have no rights?

Reflecting on your thoughts about TIPS,  TIA, Patrot Act, etc.

I came to the understanding of why we both could read the laws being
created and come away with different perspectives.

I think you read the laws and in your mind you see how they would be
carried out by someone who thinks like you do.
Above the board, Honest,  wanting to do "The right thing".

Maybe,  its because I'm older but I look at those powers and see how they
would be carried out by Joe McCarthy,  J.Edgar Hoover.
Richard Nixon,     (or Ashcroft)    NOT how I would carry them out.  but
How Those people would carry them out and what they would do
with those powers.

That scares the bejeezes out of me.    I lived thru all of those people.
and Personally,  I would NOT have wanted for them to have those powers.
And Believe me.   Those types will come again.  They always do.

Some would argue,  .......   They are already here.

Maybe that explains the difference between us.
