Hi all. I had a reader send me an interesting comment that I was hoping to
get some feedback on from all of you. The reader wanted to know why IBM
doesn't open source it's OV/400 product, since it's not making money on it
anymore anyway. I looked into it, and it appears the product is too tightly
integrated with the operating system. However, my question is this -- are
there other products/applications that are no longer supported, and
therefore no longer producing profit, that could feasibly be open sourced
for the benefit of the open source community and/or users of that particular
app? It seemed an interesting concept, and I was trying to think of other
"discontinued" offerings that could fall into that rationale.
(OS/2....others??)

Thanks for any help/comments you can offer.
