Hi folks

For those of you who'd like to try Linux, but don't like the idea of
having to install it, have a go with Knoppix. It's a run-from-cd version
that auto-detects all your hardware and boots you straight into a
graphical session. Around 2Gb of software is crammed onto the cd,
including OpenOffice.org (the codebase that Sun's StarOffice 6 is based
on). It doesn't modify or write to your hard drive, in case you're
worried about trashing an existing OS - should be quite safe to run at
work ;-)

More details and download (iso image to burn to a 700Mb cd) from
http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html

Regards, Martin
[BTW, if there are any UK list members that are interested but don't have
access to a broadband connection and a cd burner, then drop me an email.]
