I've been saying this for years. I don't think I'm the only one who has
suggested that Microsoft is attempting to build an "integrated" system. I'm
not saying it's the only conclusion, but it wouldn't surprise me if someday
Microsoft took a big chunk out of Oracle's database market share by
integrating SQL Server with XP and/or NT.

Assuming a Windows OS and Wintel servers scale to compete with big Unix
servers their database might become the default database for many apps.

Of course, there's a whole 'nuther discussion about whether Microsoft is
trying to develop an architecturally graceful, stable integrated systems
environment, or whether they're just trying to crush their competition.

Subject: Microsoft is trying to copy the AS/400?!?

Check this out! http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/4/23852.html There has
been a couple leaks in what features might be included in the next windows
version. One of which is the change the file system into a DB. There is even
a good mention of OS400.

We all know M$ will screw that up!
