Problem solved, IBM support were able to help. The print server does not support remote output queues but does support SNMP. I created a printer device description which worked perfectly.

When a print job is sent to the output queue the job remains in SND
status. I can ping the IP address and I can open the print server
homepage in a web browser.
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?
