They gave us some sample SQL code that returns if any data groups have
errors. We use that with our messaging app to send warnings.

We don't send threshold or objects/files in error, or audit errors, those
are monitored by an admin. I'm sure those could be automated as well.

Mimix has a dashboard that you can periodically look at to check for high
level health. Our system operator used to have it on a 5-minute green
screen auto-refresh. If something showed up we drilled down further. In
reality, you probably only need to check it in the morning and once of
twice more later in the day.

We also ran Mimix audits in the dead of night--any problems they found
showed on the dashboard the next morning.

I never did get around to installing the GUI portal, but they kept coming
out with updates and improvements, so you might find it friendlier. And
maybe it has a way now to send alerts via e-mail or text. (I've been gone
from it for a couple of years now.)

Not sure what you mean by benchmarks. Mimix generally tries to keep up
with incoming changes, and will warn you on the dashboard if it gets behind.

As to what should be tracked, that's where the Mimix audits come in, to
ensure that the production and backup versions are in synch. I think we
checked just about everything every day--trickiest thing as I recall was
scheduling the audits.

And I always found their support staff very good and helpful. They will
set up a remote session green screen and show you around the product.

Does anyone have any insight on how to measure and monitor MIMIX. Are you
using VSP, did you write some tools using the RTV* commands or are you
using a product. Looking for a way to benchmark it each hour or by day to
produce some sort of results that can be used to track various items(what
should the list of items be). .
