First of all, I failed to find an 8202-E42 listed at

As I drill around I see things like 8202-E4D2 and whatnot so I think we're
close.
From what I remember you do have an HMC. There is some setup to do if you
still want to use the VCP on an HMC managed system. They detail this at:

See section "It also works with the HMC".
I had to do some reading as to why one would even use the VCP on an HMC
managed system. Familiarity I suppose. Otherwise, I have no clue.
