There is a difference between "Not Supported" and "Does not work". I know several people who successfully run the old client on Win10. Just know if you ever have an issue, IBM will not support you. You also run the risk of future Windows updates causing issues. You should really download the Java client and kick the tires. You will have to move there sooner or later.

Subject: Re: i Access Client and latest java

I've seen this mentioned here before (that iSeries Access is not supported on Windows 10). I presume that means the old Client Access application.
I'm curious how it is that it's working for me and the other techs here.
We access remote clients as well and have had no problem, including using the 'receive file from host...' on the Actions menu.

What's different for me?

Best Regards,

Thomas Garvey

Has anyone else experienced any problem with the latest Java version that was released this week running on Windows 10? I have two PCs. One Windows 7 and one Windows 10 both running the latest java version and both running the latest i Access Client. The windows 7 PC works fine the Windows 10 PC does not. The windows 10 PC will show the "Loading..." windows and never leaves that point. I did go to IBM and download Access Client again to be sure I had the most recent build and it did the same.

Thanks
