It is "simple" enough to use a single RPG program and embedded SQL
to access multiple databases (one local and the rest remote) for the
purpose of collating such information. You just have to set up the
database directory entries required using the WRKRDBDIRE command. I do
this for both DB/2 UDB on the IBM i and for other (non-DRDA) databases
such as MS SQL Server, etc. Of course, the non-DRDA databases require a
gateway program running on the IBM i. I use Dieter's AppServer4RPG (found
at SourceForge) for this. The following are my remote database directory
entries. The last three are IBM i systems.
