I'd say that for optimization alone, probably you don't have to do much. Now the new engine can now be used for more things - like OPNQRYF - so the use of indexes might become more important.

But for any of that, I'd say you can wait.

One thing to look at is how JOINs are processed - there was a change to a stricter process - look at the MTUs for each release in between.
