I think the term is QUERY/400 query. Or use "i have a WRKQRY query..."
One technique is to put your "variable" into a one row work table. Then
you would join from that work table to your main data. Understand?
The STRQMQRY is another good technique.
Converting your WRKQRY query into a STRQM query is another.
If the WRKQRY query only generates an output file for further processing
converting that to an imbedded SQL command is even better.
