Power8's are quieter than Power7's but it takes quite a while for them to slow the fans down to that point. Warm up the area a bit though and they will get noisy quickly.

The noisiest thing in many of the DCs I get into are those dang cisco fiber switches used for the UCS chassis. They are 1U boxes and the fans scream at all times drowning out almost everything in the area including EVRERYthing in any Power Systems racks.
