Aldon basically works one of two ways...

You can define "create parameters" for any object, in which case those are
what's used when recompiling.

Or if you haven't defined any, it looks at the existing object before
replacing it with the new one.

In all honesty I don't do the development work that I used to. Been

Try this:
In your production system change the printer file with that option. (I
don't expect any CMS from stopping you.)
Now on your development system change the printer file and 'forget' to set
that attribute.
See if it promotion catches the delta. And, what actions, if any, it
performs.
Maybe it 'silently' does something. Like adopt the attributes of the
production system. You might have to check that attribute after promotion
occurs. See if it's using what you had on development vs what you had on
production.

Rob,

Thanks for the info! Yes, I'm just piloting this change on one particular
spool file and if it works I'll make sure to change the source of the
printer file to reflect the new parameter. We have the MKS software and
it did not prevent me from making the change. Thanks again!
