No, I'm thinking of simply trying to move all the files from one directory to another with mv in QShell.

Have you tried that? It doesn't work, at least as recently as 7.1.

You can always access one file at a time with an exact name, but you can't do a lot of basic file commands.

If it's really a question, I'll mess around with it in my spare time and get you the number.

Wow that seems miniscule. I have one customer today with 15M in one directory and many more in the tree.

Even back in 3.1 we had customer Waaaaay past 32K. Perhaps you're thinking of inferior tools such as mapped drives to Windows not being able to open the folder?

We use them primarily from Apache servers and just don't see issues.
