No kidding!

I did go looking on that site - yes, the MO:DCA volume does not mention PNGs. That is a December 2011 document - the IBMer said PNG was added March 2011.

Then I happened upon the Presentation objects subsets for AFP - lo and behold, it lists JPEG and TIFF as subsets - AND PNG - and the OID for PNG has the last byte x'41' - that's 65, the component number I was given. That last byte is always hex for the component ID, so far as I could see in the MO:DCA book. That book is from 2013.

Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry Eeeeeeeeeeenteresting! But soporific! (Nazi German Chortle!!)
