I expect you would get a disk error at that point as the disks would not be
visible to the guest.

IPL-ing into DST and removing the ASP would be the better option.

I would have expected to have to do this to get rid of the ASP.

I have always seen that, even for an empty ASP.

Am I correct that ASP can only be deleted through OpsNav, no green
screen command.

Not with a command, but with a DST option.
