Not sure I agree with that. I download ALL my images using batch ftp on and to an i 7.1 partition. I do have the receive buffer at 65536 but have had it that way for years.

This partition routes over a virtual network through a hosted IBM i partition functioning as a bridge then to our firewall.

Download speeds range from 3600KB (yes B) /sec to 4800 KB /sec (3.6 to 4.8 MB) and that's with multiple downloads running concurrently I have the limit currently at 4 and that many were running when these numbers were attained.
