That works fine and dandy!

I was able to test it using
values routines.epoch_time()

So if I need to retrieve a value I can do
values routines.epoch_time() into :myhostvariable

Why this instead of calling C functions directly?
I have this Notes developer that had a need to generate Epoch time. He's
pretty familiar with DB2, sql, etc. He's even whipped up a RPG program to
be called from Notes.
These young pups can really learn new stuff fast and bang it out. Did I
mention that he's been with the company for 30+ years?
