If you search for *ERR it should find any syntax errors.

There is no "let's syntax check the whole thing on open" option. The
first one is "add/modified" or not at all, and it is retained for the next
time you use SEU. The range is not retained the next time you use SEU.
It's an alternative to just using add/modified.
