Re: Learning SEU, Source members, etc for the non I programmer?

As a general rule we don’t teach SEU/PDM at all when teaching people new to the box. We teach IBM’s RDi toolset instead and there’s quite a bit of on-line material for that. One of the reasons being that no features added to RPG IV since V6 can be handled by SEU and the resulting green mess is not pretty.

Text files are called source members and live in source files, This is how
you would create and run a source member with a CREATE TABLE statement.
Long time green screeners will call a table a Physical File. BTW, you could
also define a physical file with a deprecated Domain Specific Language
(DSL) called DDS. It's not recommended anymore, but you might encounter DDS
files, so here is a basic one.


There is some stuff on Youtube, but its more piecemeal stuff.
