Yep, see my 2nd reply that I sent after seeing your post on 3-part naming.

I checked the parameter - it depends on another parameter, where you set *DUW or *RUW - not too picky in my mind, since the default for that parameter is *DUW, which does allow setting OUTFILE.

In any case, I reminded by you about the 3-part naming - haven't had to use it yet.

Vern, remember he was trying to insert locally from a remote database. I
am under the impression that using the relational database parameter of
STRQMQRY has the statement run there. If you read the help on that
parameter the OUTFILE parameter gets really picky when you specify a
remote database.

Best to be on a version of the OS that will be supported in more than two
months and just use the three part syntax.
