Seen these periodically over the years sometimes with ODBC and JDBC and ADO.Net.

Even though the correct index exists it doesn't get selected when using the DB drivers over interactive.

Try the query in iSeries Navigator and see what happens.

If it's DB driver related you might then be able to reach out to IBM.

Not sure what you mean by telling ODBC to do the bulk of the processing on I ? I believe it does.

You run this sql statement that does a select with ordering, where's,
grouping, etc and it takes forever in ODBC but runs pretty fast from
STRSQL.
How do I tell ODBC to do a bulk of the processing on the IBM i?
