Here is one possible FUD factor:
Have there been any CVE's published against TS1?
I'm not sure if there have ever been any CVE's published against any pdf
creator. But if so, I can just imagine IBM saying "sure our product still
has "pdf engine x.y.x" imbedded into the header but we addressed that CVE
by patching it instead of using a newer pdf engine. We realize that your
compliance auditors will still complain but if you have them call us we'll
explain it to them" Kind of what I hear about their DNS bind version.
I bet more CVE's have been published Adobe as a PDF reader than any PDF
generator. So much so that people are asking browser makers to supply
their own pdf reader. But they are the 800# gorilla in the room; what's
your alternative, jpeg? :-)
