Unfortunately, the original poster doesn't know how to use Google for answering his own questions:

LIMIT 1 is used in an MySQL or Oracle SQL query to limit to one the number of rows selected:
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=limit+sql+query+to+100+rows

FETCH FIRST 1 ROWS ONLY is how you limit to one the number of rows selected in an IBM i SQL query.

I haven't seen LIMIT before and I think that's what it's complaining about.
