Rob,

Just did the same for V7R1, downloaded and installed options 16 and 17.
Why does the installed release state V6R1, not V7R1?
What does your V7R2 install show?

5761JV1 V6R1M0 Java SE 8 32 bit
5761JV1 V6R1M0 Java SE 8 64 bit

Paul

Subject: Java 8

I see this has been announced for IBM i 7.2.
I went into ESS (Entitled Software Support) downloads.
Select 5770SS1 hide/show
Did a hide/show on 5827: i7.2 B_GROUP1 v07.02.00,ENU,DVD and then I see Developer Kit for Java 8 32bit 5770 ...
Developer Kit for Java 8 64bit 5770 ...
and I can check these and download them.
Basically, if you can find the new "IBM i Access Client Solutions" you can find the new Java. They're right in sequence.

Is this pretty much non disruptive and nothing will start using them unless I change environment variables and other stuff of that genre? I just like to "be prepared".
