Nope, a spooled file IS data.

What you can do with it and how you can use it might be different to the
source data it came from but it still provides information - therefore it
is data.

One of the premises of big data is that stuff that is in a text-like format
- say for instance a spool file - is still data.

I think you would not be having this dscussion if you agreed what the term
"data" meant first.

Then we agree, a spooled file is not data. It's a picture or
representation of the data. Yes, it can be made into the data.

That's all I was trying to say. If you NEED to use a spooled file to
extract data, that's fine. But not ideal if the real data still exists.
