Greetings. Lots of good questions and interaction on the Samba topic.

Couple of things I wanted to follow up on.

SMB - Yes, that is the foundation technology used for BOTH Samba and
NetServer.

Samba is not shipped with the new OPS product, although it should be, but
that product had not yet been created when we were figuring out where to
ship Samba. So currently the PTFs that update the Samba zip file are part
of the operating system. The PTF contains a zip file that contains the
compiled runtime files to allow Samba to run in the PASE environment. Yes,
there is some extra work you will need to do in order to use Samba on IBM
i. Details for latest PTFs, install and startup instructions can be found
