VALUES TO_CHAR(CURRENT TIMESTAMP, 'AM')
will return AM or PM depending on the time of day. But, it ONLY returns
the AM or PM.


It's 1:04pm here.

values to_char(current timestamp, 'AM')
returns PM

values (current time)
concat ' '
concat to_char(current timestamp, 'AM')
returns
13:04:02 PM

Is this what you really want? Or would you rather have this?

values char(current time, USA)
....+...
VALUES
01:04 PM
